Yes. You can start with Solo and switch Team on at any time, if you want to give the team accounts and let them submit time-off requests. You lose nothing - employee features are simply added, and your schedules and history stay in place.
No. You pay only for the plan you choose: in Solo one flat monthly rate, in Team for as many employees as you add. There are no setup fees, no commissions and no long-term commitments - you cancel whenever you want.
In Solo you pay one flat rate for everything, no matter how many people you put on the schedule - the headcount on the schedule changes nothing. In Team you pay for every employee who has an account, because that is what lets them submit requests and availability. People who only view the schedule through a link are not counted.
